韦斯特伍德 High School students put their scientific knowledge to the test 和 came out as some of the top minds in the nation at the Regeneron International Science 和 Engineering Fair 5月.

During the world’s largest pre-collegiate science research competition, Christopher Huh 和 Armaan Srireddy took fourth place in the Materials Science 和 the Sustainable Materials 和 Design categories, 分别.

Huh’s project titled “Carbon Dioxide Conversion to Hydrocarbon Fuel Utilizing Metal Catalyst” involved demonstrating a way to recycle CO2 using metals such as iron, 锂, 锌, 和 manganese. Srireddy’s project titled “Developing a Wearable Triboelectric Nanogenerator to Operate Self-Powered Biosensors” involved developing a method to generate electricity from body movements using small lightweight silicon patches that generate electricity as they create friction with the skin.

The fair saw more than 1,800 high school students from 80 countries compete for the title of champion in various categories related to physics, environmental sciences, animal sciences 和 more.
